Health Equity/Advocacy
Our team advocates for the elimination of structural and systemic barriers that prevent immigrants and BIPOC communities from accessing healthcare.
Community Health Workers Initiative
We provide training and deployment of community health workers who work directly with immigrant and BIPOC communities in Maine. Their goal is to address the social determinants of health in these communities.
Food Security and Nutrition Education
We offer culturally appropriate food to immigrants through our food pantries that are hosted twice a week. Additionally, we provide SNAP Ed consultancy and education to immigrants and BIPOC communities in Maine. Moreover, we offer food support and nutrition education to older adults in York and Cumberland counties in Maine.
Civic Engagement
We are committed to promoting the quality of life for our communities through non-political processes. Our initiatives include environmental activism, political activism, voter education, and voter registration. We also strive to establish effective communication channels between elected officials and community members to facilitate dialogue and promote mutual understanding. Our aim is to foster a healthy and equitable community that prioritizes the well-being of all its members.
Public Health Education and Outreach
We offer culturally and linguistically appropriate education and outreach programs to address various health topics and issues affecting immigrant and BIPOC communities in Maine. Our goal is to ensure that these communities have access to accurate and relevant health information that can help them make informed decisions about their well-being.
Workforce Development
We're all about economic justice and equal job opportunities for our communities. Our services help members find jobs, including resume building, job search assistance, and support with job applications. We'll even give you a ride to your job interview! Plus, we advocate for our members facing discrimination at work. We believe in a fair and equal workplace for everyone.
